How do I select more than one message? | BACK TO TOP
In addition to using the check boxes, you can also select multiple messages with a keyboard shortcut. Simply hold down the ‘ctrl’ key and click on the desired messages. If your messages are in sequential order hold down the shift key and select the first and last messages to select them all.

How do I move a message into a folder? | BACK TO TOP
Simply click the check box of the desired message and select Move to send it to a specific folder. Alternately, if you highlight the message with your cursor and hold down the mouse button, you can drag and drop the message in to any folder you choose.

Where’s my Address Book? | BACK TO TOP
You used to add contacts into your address book, which is now a folder called Contacts. To add a new contact, click on the Contacts folder, and click on the “New Contact” button. After sending a message you can now add a contact’s email address, first and last name.

How do I delete a message? | BACK TO TOP
You can delete a message by: selecting the check box next to the message and clicking on the Delete button, dragging it to the trash, or pressing the Delete key on your keyboard.

What are the tabs for at the top of my screen? | BACK TO TOP
Tab browsing lets you easily navigate your mailbox without having to open multiple windows at once. By selecting the appropriate tab you can toggle back and fourth between emails you’re composing, the inbox, or any other messages that happen to be open. Easily close any tab by clicking on the small ‘X’ in the top right hand corner.

How do I check for new messages? | BACK TO TOP
Yahoo! Mail automatically checks for new messages every 10 minutes. You can also use a keyboard shortcut to check your mail by pressing the ‘m’ key, or by clicking on the Check Mail button.

What is a Reading Pane? | BACK TO TOP
The Reading Pane is the small rectangular area below the messages in your Inbox. When you click on a message once, its contents will appear in the Reading Pane. To adjust the size of the Reading Pane click then drag the divider bar up or down. You can easily view the next message in your inbox by clicking the arrow key. To hide the Reading Pane, click Hide Pane or press the ‘v’ key.

Is there a quick way to find a message? | BACK TO TOP
To find a message use the ‘Find Messages…’ field. Enter the keyword, name, or email address of the message you’re looking, and Yahoo! Mail quickly finds it. If you want to find the same message again, use the drop-down menu for all recent searches.

How can I use my mail more efficiently? | BACK TO TOP
Try using keyboard shortcuts to accomplish tasks more quickly. To check messages, press the ‘m’ key. To create a new message, press the ‘n’ key. To delete, press the ‘delete’ key. Check out the full list of keyboard shortcuts.

How do I chat in Yahoo! Mail? | BACK TO TOP
Change the chat status in the mail header to “Available” and you’ll see the number of friends in your contact list that are online and available for chat. Click on the name of the person you wish to chat with and a new tab will appear for your chat window.

How do I manage my online status? | BACK TO TOP
Change your chat status by clicking the arrow next to the chat status arrow. Once open you can then select from a number of user settings such as Available, Busy, Invisible, Logout or set a custom status message.

Where do I see my friends online? | BACK TO TOP
Click on the Online arrow next to Contacts to view contacts that are available for chat.

Can I ever switch back to the original Yahoo! Mail? | BACK TO TOP
Anytime you want to switch back to the original Yahoo! Mail, click the ‘Switch Back’ link on the top left-hand part of your screen.
